A woman-owned family business for 60 years, PBE designs, develops, and manufactures high-performance absorbency products. From our two manufacturing locations in northwest Ohio, we provide solutions for applications in the areas of healthcare, consumer, and engineered products. PBE strives to create and maintain a positive work environment that supports and encourages all of our associates to excel.

Complementing those business units is a long-standing relationship with Gelok International, a premier manufacturer of low profile, super absorbent laminates and composites.

OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Carol Stocking
Co-CEOAs the second generation owner of the company, Carol grew up with Principle Business Enterprises. After serving her family as a homemaker for 25 years, Carol re-joined PBE as co-CEO alongside Chuck in 2000.
Carol has overseen product and corporate marketing, and has been integral in the multiple facilities expansions the company has undergone during her time as Co-CEO.
Carol has a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Michigan State University and has brought a focus on human-centered design to the layout, office spaces, and common areas of the PBE facilities. Carol and Chuck were recognized by Ernst and Young as 2017 Entrepreneurs of the Year for Michigan and Northwest Ohio.
Chuck Stocking
Co-CEO
Chuck is a native of North Central Illinois, a graduate of Principia College in Elsah, Illinois and obtained his J.D. degree from Northwestern University School of Law. Following graduation, Chuck served as V.P. and House Counsel for General Binding Corporation. He spent a number of years in turn-around consulting with a heavy emphasis on strategic planning and execution. Chuck brought his extensive background in marketing, sales, and operational leadership to PBE in 1975 and began full-time leadership of the company in 1994. He has a passion for dramatically improving the quality of life for caregivers and care recipients while eliminating waste in healthcare.
As Co-CEO of Principle Business Enterprises (PBE), Chuck and Carol were recognized by Ernst and Young as 2017 Entrepreneurs of the Year for Michigan and Northwest Ohio.
Chuck is actively engaged in public service through leadership positions in a wide array of organizations. As a Rotarian for over 40 years, he has served as a District Governor for Rotary International, President of Toledo Rotary, co-founded Partners in Education and MESA. Chuck has also served on the Board of Trustees of the Toledo Symphony, 577 Foundation, Mental Health Clinic of Wood County, Toledo Community Foundation, Perrysburg Area Historic Museum, First Church of Christ Scientist (Maumee) and the Multi-Faith Council of NWOH.
Andrew Stocking
President
Andrew Stocking, Ph.D., is acting President and a member of PBE’s Board of Directors. He joins PBE as part of the third-generation after a distinguished career in engineering, technology, nonprofits, and government. At PBE, Andrew is passionate about improving the lives of customers through best-in-class products, PBE associates through an innovative and transformative benefit program, and the surrounding community through corporate engagement. Andrew is committed to American manufacturing in the midwest.
Prior to leading PBE, Andrew held a succession of crucial roles within the federal government, including Senior Advisor for Economics and Energy Security at the Department of Energy and Market Design Economist at the Congressional Budget Office in the healthcare unit and microeconomic studies unit. In those roles, Andrew contributed to policy debates about a variety of topics, including Medicare, Medicaid, clean power, auction design, oil and gas development, prescription drug benefits, the strategic petroleum reserve, Chinese trade policy, electricity markets, and competition in healthcare.
In recognition of his work on energy security at the Department of Energy, Andrew was awarded the Secretary of Energy's Honor Award in 2016. Andrew was also Vice President of Business Development and Vice President of Nonprofit Strategy at Care2.com, a Silicon Valley web startup. Andrew has been an adjunct professor in Economics at the University of Maryland and is currently adjunct professor at Bowling Green State University in the business school.
Andrew has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, master's degree in civil engineering, both from Stanford University and a master's degree and PhD in Resource Economics from the University of Maryland.
Mike Kirby
Executive Vice PresidentManaging Director
Mike joined Principle Business in 1996 as Chief Financial Officer and in 2014 accepted the role of Executive Vice President of Finance and a seat on the formally created Principle Industries Board of Directors.
Previously, Mike served as the Controller of the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority that operates Toledo Express Airport, oversees the Seaport of Toledo and facilitates innovative business financing for economic development projects. In 1972 Mike joined Arthur Young & Co, auditing/consulting many regional companies: Owens Illinois, Schindler Haughton Elevator and several manufacturing companies.
A graduate of Miami University, Mike majored in Finance & Accounting. For 29 years he was Business Manager for the Maumee United Methodist Church and currently is Treasurer for the Citizens for Anthony Wayne Schools. He is an avid tennis player and enjoys running.
Alan Clifford
Executive Vice President, Operations
Alan joined Principle Business in 2000 in the role of Plant Manager. His passion for business development quickly led to an expansion of his role to include Private Label Sales responsibilities as well as leading PBE into the consumer market space with pet care products. As PBE has grown Alan’s role has evolved as well, first to Vice President of Operations in 2007 and then to Executive Vice President of Operations in 2014.
He has 40 years of experience in the absorbent product industry having held manufacturing leadership and R&D project management roles with Tambrands Inc. (Tampax Tampons), First Quality Hygenics (private label fem-care), and Drypers Baby Diapers.
Alan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Maine, an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Husson College, Bangor, Maine. His interests outside of work include family activities, camping, and home projects.
Larry Jones
Chief Financial Officer
Larry has been with PBE for just over four years and leads the Finance, IT and Quality functions for the company. His focus is on using technology such as Tableau business analytics software to get information in the hands of our business leaders when and how it best serves them for decision making. After earning his MBA from the University of Michigan, Larry’s career has included four years with Procter & Gamble, two years in a transportation technology start-up, and a decade with Therma-Tru Doors. Larry plays soccer year-round and has started to play golf again now that his children are off at college.
Heike Reid
Vice President,Business Development
Heike started with PBE in May 2016 as VP Business Development, with responsibilities for the development of Private Label, LEAP division and Gelok business units.
Heike has been in the Personal Care category for 25 years, managing diverse product lines such as Baby Diapers, Feminine Hygiene, Adult Incontinence and Wipes, in Retail and Healthcare channel.
She has held senior leadership roles with First Quality, Irving Consumer Products, Ontex BVA and Albaad USA. Heike attended Ryerson University in Ontario, Canada. She is very focused on health and fitness and regularly spends time outdoors cycling or kayaking or doing classes at the gym.
Houston Legg
Vice President,Acute Care
Houston Legg is Vice President in charge of Acute Care. He brings nearly 25 years of experience in the medical and healthcare industry to PBE.
Houston’s passion for providing reliable and innovative products to people in a time of need led him to create and build PBE’s wound care division, and stabilize and expand the footwear business. Houston’s work leading Acute Care enabled him to cut costs while providing more jobs for American workers.
Houston holds a BA in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Rodney Eason
Vice President,Human Resources
Rodney has a passion for human capital strategy, talent management and leadership development. He possesses over 24 years of leadership experience in the areas of Operations Management, Training, Safety and Human Resources. He began his career at UPS as an Operations Manager, Training & Safety Manager and HR Supervisor for over 11 years. He then spent 8 years as a Regional Human Resources Manager at Fifth Third Bank. For 4 years he served as the HR Director for The Andersons, an agribusiness company, until August of 2017. In September of 2017, he became the Vice President of Human Resources for Principle Business Enterprises, a health care products manufacturing company located in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Rodney attended the University of Cincinnati, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing & Management and a Master of Business Administration from Heidelberg University. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Society of Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM – SCP).
He is a graduate of the 2007 class of Leadership Toledo and a former board member. In the community, he currently serves as the past co-chair on the United Way’s African-American Leadership Council and a member of the Society of Human Resources Management. He recently joined the Toledo Library Legacy Foundation Board in May of 2017.
Rodney has been married for over 17 years to his wife Sheila and has two children, Donovan (13yrs) and Nia (5yrs). He enjoys spending time with family, reading, sports and volunteering in his church and in the community.
Angie Williams
Vice President,Marketing
Angie is a dynamic leader with proven experience in developing marketing and creative teams. With a management consulting background, Angie’s methodology is rooted in aligning employee and customer experiences to achieve business outcomes.
Prior to joining Principle Business Enterprises, Angie was the Senior Director of Product Success and Brand Strategy at Pepperjam, formerly part of eBay. There, she was accountable for guiding company communications and product development during continuous transformation. While working as a marketing leader for Gap International, a management consulting firm specializing in breakthrough performance, Angie helped build the marketing and creative systems that increased the company’s brand awareness.
Angie graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Visual Communication Technology, and recently moved backed to the area from Philadelphia, PA. When Angie is not working or chasing her 2-year-old, she’s playing golf, watching sports or cooking.
