Principle Business Enterprises Supports ‘Greater Independence’ For Local Veterans On #GivingTuesdayNWO

PBE Associates celebrate Veterans Month with Wall of Honor, caregiver programming and enhanced VA customer support.

Dunbridge, Ohio – November 30, 2023 – Ohio-based incontinence product manufacturer, Principle Business Enterprises, Inc. (PBE), celebrated #GivingTuesdayNWO with more than $20,000 in donations to local partners, caregiver networking and resource group programming for its workforce, as well as a new sales team structure dedicated to supporting Veterans and their caregivers.

To align with the continued evolution in complex care and accessibility needs for the Veteran population, PBE has partnered with The Ability Center to bolster their newly announced Veterans Fund through employee donations raised during the Company’s annual Veterans Silent Auction.

“The Ability Center extends its gratitude this #GivingTuesdayNWO to Principle Business Enterprises for their generous contribution through their annual Veterans Silent Auction. This act of kindness reflects PBE’s deep commitment to honoring Veterans and strengthening our community,” said Stuart James, Executive Director of The Ability Center.

Since 2021, The Ability Center has assisted 724 Veterans and their spouses, providing them with the tools and resources to live more independently. The Veterans Fund seeks to build upon this success, focusing on areas such as durable medical equipment, home accessibility projects, assistance dogs, recreational opportunities, and providing vital information and referrals to current and former servicemembers living in the home.

Further reinforcing the importance of accessibility for Veterans, PBE’s Principle Business Fund, in association with a community partner, worked with the Toledo Zoo to provide 255 annual Zoo memberships at no cost to those who have served in the military. The Toledo Zoo offers sensory and interpretation services, in addition to a powered, height-adjustable adult changing table to aid those with mobility challenges.

Veterans experience a higher rate of disabilities and disease states, including incontinence, due to trauma and environmental exposure while serving our country.

“We applaud the accessibility programs like those of The Ability Center and the Toledo Zoo, which enrich the lives of thousands of people every day,” said Chuck Stocking, PBE Board Chairman and overseer of the Principle Business Fund. “These donations will help ensure those who served have the healthcare supplies and equipment needed to live in their homes and enjoy the gems in our community with safety, comfort and dignity.”

PBE proud to employ and serve Veterans

PBE is committed to supporting its workforce and the communities where it operates. The Company celebrated Veterans Month in November with activities such as a “Wall of Honor” showcasing photos of employees or their family members who have served.

The Company’s newly launched Caregivers Network employee resource group also conducted presentations enlightening Associates on incontinence products and reimbursement programs to assist when caregiving for loved ones.

Over the years, PBE Associates have raised tens of thousands of dollars to provide Veterans with equine therapy, assistance dogs, indigent lodging and overseas care packages for troops. In 2022, the Company partnered with a Washington, D.C., nonprofit, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, exceeding their goal on a joint fundraising campaign that contributed $295,000 in respite relief for caregivers of Veterans at home. This year, our corporate holiday gift was handmade in Detroit by Veterans and local talent with upcycled and sustainable materials from Pingree Detroit, a worker-owned design and manufacturing cooperative.

Dedicated Veterans support team

Over 70% of Veterans Affairs (VA) and state-operated Veterans homes nationwide use PBE’s flagship brand, Tranquility® Incontinence Products. For the benefit of its Veterans population, PBE recently reorganized its government sales team to provide faster and more personalized support to facilities around the nation. Each team includes dedicated product specialists and clinicians to ensure even the most complex incontinence needs of Veterans are met.
